holidays 2005...
we started out with a few days in dallas where we spent christmas eve
and morning visiting the patenaudes and visited with jen's friend
julie, how showed us a bit of uptown to prove to jen that dallas
doesn't consist entirely of lewisville;)
then we headed up north to lynden [between settle & vancouver] to
spend christmas night and a few extra days with jen's family. there were plenty of laughs,
great food and wine, and "guitar hero" madness to be shared by all.
for the 30th and new year's eve, jen and i headed up north to brad
and jani's beautiful condo on right on blackcomb mountain. we
spent new year's eve @ "garfinkel's" in whistler village, and
scurried out shortly after midnight.
december 10 & 11th...
headed up to mammoth for some snowboarding with R&N and renee and jeff.
"guitar hero" was fun the first night, sat. was filled with
boarding, the jacuzzi, wine and sushi. but alas, it always
ends with that long 5 1/2 hour drive home.
december 03 & 4th...
knocked out our long run sat. morning, then ran a few errands @ the
grove, before finally getting a chance to check out R&N's fancy new
condo in bev. hills. after that it was onto fat fish" for some
delicious sushi, the hive gallery to check out some of renee and
jeff's art, then the snake pit for some late drinks. sunday
was spent working on this year's christmas cards and quite a bit of
lounging.
november 26 & 27...
thanksgiving up @ the stephan's, which was filled with plenty of smiles,
love, & wonderful food!

november 12 [the weekend
of]...
jen's
sister, julia was in town to celebrate her 23rd birthday. we
started off @ "cobras and
matadors" where we met R&N for a nice dinner of tapas and wine.
then it was onto 40duece where we met
up with a couple of julia's friends that live in the area, for a
great burlesque show and a few drinks.
the rest of the weekend included a lot of
wedding dress shopping
for jen with the help of her lil' sis', then R&N came over for a
nice bbq and puppet show staring the one and only, "spable"
straight from the czech. republic! |
november 2nd..., 6th, etc...
curt and thao
arrived for the weekend from dallas, and came in for a small tour of the
city... katana, saddle ranch, and 40 duece friday night, and
the grove, [a short nap:)], gladstone's, and
[the laugh factory]
[great show: tony rock, dane cook, a great host (forgot his name:(),
and some other occasionally funny guy].
october 29...
i arrived back in the states just in time for jenny & sean's annual halloween party!

september 30...
jen's birthday!! happy birthday, sweedence! 'twas
the night before our big trip, and although we had celebrated her
birthday the previous 3 or 4 weekends, i couldn't help but bring her home an
"official" birthday cake.
september 23, 24, & 25...
friday night we decided to check out the san gennaro festival that'd
been blocking our street all week- after a few minutes of
disappointment, we headed down tot the grove for dinner. saturday was
all
about last minute errands for the big trip. we even managed to
squeeze in enough for "the corpse bride" which aside from a good
movie, was incredibly beautiful and inspiring. sunday we headed down
to the hermosa, where i caught a few waves while jen caught up on
some last minute pre-trip tanning. afterwards we met rob, nicole,
jill, and a few of jen's other friends down in redondo for
lobsterfest. we witnessed the execution of hundreds if not
thousands of poor little delicious lobsters, before enjoying a great neil diamond cover band, "super diamond" and their ever-entertaining groupies.

september 10 & 11...
The weekend began with a beautiful drive up PCH toward Santa Barbara on
Saturday Morning, then on to the Santa Ynez wine country for the
ongoing celebration of Jen's 29th birthday! Our driver picked us up
at noon at our hotel, and we managed to visit 5 wineries (including
several which were featured in the movie Sideways) before collapsing
for a short nap prior to a nice meal at "The Hitching Post" on
Saturday night. After two relaxing massages on Sunday morning, we
drove to Santa Barbara for an amazing lunch at "The Palace Grill",
and topped it all off with a beautiful walk downtown. |
september 03, etc...
tackled quite a bit... finally picked out jen's backpack for the
oct. trip, hit a couple travel stores for more supplies, a bbq complete with
watermelon eating contest [see pics below] with R&N sat.
night, surfing sunday afternoon, el compadre for a dinner, a bit of
swimming, some movies, 5 loads of laundry, and that's that!

25, 26, 27 & 28...
bo [jen's bro] and kim's [jen's new sister-in-law] wedding in lynden [bewtween
seattle and vancouver]. turned out beautifully and brian
finally got to meet most of the rest of jen's family... who
were all just as wonderful as jen described 'em! |

13 & 14...
finally checked out the laugh factory on friday night, for a hilarious
show, headed out to a dodger game on sat where we started out rooting for
the mets, but then quickly decided to cheer for whichever team happened to
be winning @ the moment. then took a taxi to melrose, and decided to
walk from there. sunday we spent the afternoon @ hermosa with my new
surfboard, "ernie". aside from that, we fell victim to some sort of
sunglass curse... my lens kept popping out, jen broke the side piece
off one of hers, and accidentally flushed her other one down the toilet!
august
05, 06 & 07...
lucky strike with rob and nicole for some some bowling, friday night.
saturday... _FINALLY_ took care of heaving my old table, and dropped of 3 or
4 boxes of misc. junk @ goodwill, then onto a bit of furniture shopping,
where we realized that the w. hollywood area is not the best place to buy
cheap furniture. and that night R&N came over for bbq, movies, and quite a
variety of pool activities, including but not limited to, synchronized
swimming.
sunday... that morning we surfed in water filled with more garbage, than we'd
thought possible, then onto el coyote
for a few margaritas before catching, "the wedding crasher" [fun movie] that
evening.
july 30 & 31...
2 days of surfing in hermosa, and finished moving in
together!
july 23 & 24...
treated ourselves to a few nice spa treatments @ the spring in hot springs,
CA [right next to palm springs]. we stopped @ some huge factory on the
way back managing to come away with nothing more than a couple great pics.
july 16 & 17...
finally moved jen in! to celebrate [her moving away from the
beach?], we bought a brand new surf board for her, named "eggbert"

july 09 & 10...
laundry! chill @ beach, and started packing some of jen's stuff
for the big move.
july 02, 03, & 04...
julie's 4th of july party, then onto vegas to celebrate the holiday.
the final itinerary included a delicious dinner at the beautiful picasso
restaurant in the bellagio, the cirque de soliel, "zumanity", which was as
sexy as it was physically impressive. we topped it off with an afternoon
frying in the sun @ moorea beach club, mandalay's "adult's only" pool.
june 24, 25, & 26...
brian meets jen's parent's for the first time, who were in town for a
golf tournament- everything went great!
drinks friday night, and a day trip out to the wineries in temecula on
sunday.
june 18 & 19...
catalina island on saturday for scuba, etc. with R & N, then onto
40duece later that night...
